Grooming By Galdy gave my little border collie/poodle mix, Leo, a wonderful summer haircut.  My Leo was so, so handsome and the staff were so kind and helpful.  They are a very family oriented shop and I trust only Galdy to take good care of my little Leo.

Grooming by Galdy really took take of Rokko! I was able to squeeze him in for his first appointment a few days ago. For starters, the price is about  15% less than what I was paying for in New Jersey.  I filled out  a basic form on what I wanted and Rokko's information. I was accustomed to an all day process when it came to getting Rokko groomed.  I was shocked to be called about an hour after drop off! One of the quickiest grooming experiences ever! I was nervous to see the scissor work honestly.  However,  when I got back in the shop, Rokko was perfect!

Very affordable for grooming costs. Brought my long hair cat here with truly awful matted fur. She came out with the lion cut, smelling like perfume hair shampoo with a cute bandana. A few months later, her hair is growing back and it's way cleaner. She's also gained a lot of confidence since the cut and while she is still shy people have commented how much more friendly she is now that she's feeling herself

Grooming by Galdy is amazing. My family brought our two elderly dachshunds for grooming for 5 years until they both passed last year. They always came back happy and calm (even the nervous one was relaxed), smelling great and feeling soft. I love this place so much that I am bringing my 4-month-old cavapoo puppy to Galdy's for his first ever grooming appointment while I am in Chicago over Thanksgiving. I'd rather fly him home and be sure about him having a great first experience than risk it in NYC where I live. 10/10.

I've come to Galdy in the past with my husky (whose since passed away). He managed to take several walk-in dog baths and doggy daycare which I was super appreciative about.  This was about 3 years ago. Fast forward to last February, I adopted my first cat Mikey and on our third day of having Mikey, he managed to get poop stuck on his bum hole and lick it all over his fur so he smelled VILE. So, the next morning I took him as soon as Galdy opened and Galdy had no appointments that day, but he still took Mikey because I desperately needed him to get a bath. I was super appreciative of his courtesy. Mikey's 2nd bath rolled around and while Mikey smelled clean he kind of seemed like his fur was deeply wiped with a wet wipe?? And that they sprayed some sort of heavy cologne on him which made him smelled good. We had also requested Mikey would be deshedded to get his winter coat out.. but when we came home he had a good amount of fly aways still. Fast forward to today, I recently adopted a 2nd cat named Murphy and he also smelled like the shelter. Was very clear I wanted him to be deshedded because his fur was super dense, super coarse, and he was just shedding like no bodie's business. I wrote on my paper, underlined it, and then I verbally confirmed with person at the front (Not Galdy maybe one of his employees) that I really need him deshedded. He said yes, great okay. My appointment was at 2:30. I brought Murphy over at 2:20. In previous appointments, I've always stayed around the area and waited (except for when Galdy squeezed my first cat in between other appointments the first time). Usually, Galdy finishes before an hour.  About 45 minutes have passed and I was wondering why I hadn't gotten a call. I walked in, asked if Murphy was ready, and they told me he would be done by around 5:30. And now I'm confused!! why didn't you start his bath at 2:30? So my new friend (who was very sad he had to go to the groomer let me tell you) was just sitting in the back waiting? Totally unacceptable. If my appointment is 2:30 I expect you to take my animal back then and get it done. And if you're running behind, I want you to tell me. I took a bus ride home and literally steps away from my front door - I got a call that he was ready. Two lyft rides later and we're back home. He still faintly has his animal shelter smell.. and he has his smelly perfume. Hopefully Murphy can clean himself and it will fade away. Bummed out the unprofessionalism with time and the fact that Murphy and Mikey still seemed a bit dirty. Galdy might do you a solid and take you in.. but he may be rushing the service and you will get lackluster results. EDIT: July 1st I'm adding another star for my review for Galdy's prompt response and transparency regarding our experience. I appreciate his commitment to transparency and for continued excellent service.

If you love your doggie, please do not take him here. My experience with this groomer has been traumatic, to say the least. The horrific experience began when I dropped off my beloved golden retriever for his 10am appointment. This was my first time here and I expressed to the man working in front how nervous I was for my pup who was very scared. They said he would be fine as they took him in the back with sounds of many dogs barking in the background. I showed a picture of his last hair cut, the man took a picture of it with his own cell phone, and told me he would be ready in 2.5 - 3 hrs. At 1:00pm (after 3 hrs) I went to pick up my dog. When I said I am there to pick up my golden retriever the staff looked confused, went in the back, and then said he would be ready in 3 more hrs. They have not even started on him! He was kept in a cage for 3 hrs, despite the fact that I had an appointment for 10am! I questioned the staff about the purpose of the appointment and my concern of my dog being scared. They said they would bathe and give him a hair cut next. As I was leaving I saw through the window one of the groomers placing my dog on the platform and pulling him by his neck. My dog was very afraid and they were rough and careless with him. When I picked up my golden my jaw dropped to the ground when I saw him. They SHAVED my beautiful golden retriever to a haircut shorter than a lab!! Golden retrievers are not supposed to be shaved! That is not a standard haircut for this breed of dog! I was mortified. To make this experience even more grave, my goldie got an ear infection in both of his ears the next day. His ears were bleeding with scabs after they had been cleaned by this groomer.  This is not a place that will care for your dog with love...this is a place that only cares about making money and the amount of dogs they bathe and SHAVE each day. Please, if you love your dog, please do not take them here.

So so obsessed with my dogs after their grooming at Galdy's.   We've been shopping for new groomer for a year.  Seems like no one does what we ask for.  Galdy's exceeded our expectations.  Everyone was so nice. Grooming was perfect. They were fast, and reasonably priced.  Can not say enough good things about entire experience from booking to pick up. 5 stars+

We love Galdy! They do such a great job taking care of our cat. Max always looks so regal after his lion cut. Max has also stayed overnight with Galdy with no complaints, which says a lot from Max! 5/5 would recommend every time.
